Those of you who know me will know that for the last two football seasons I have spent many a Saturday watching FA Cup and FA Trophy games across the length and breadth of England (and Wales!) in a bid to follow those competitions all the way to Wembley. I have succeeded twice and this season will try and do the same with the FA Vase.
How do I make this a little bit different though? Having just spent 3 weeks in the USA visiting baseball parks (and going to matches - I'm not that much of a nerd!) I thought I could do something similar with this journey. Why not, I thought, try to find out a little bit more about the towns and villages I will be visiting as the months go by. There has to be more to life than just football (pause for thought...... yes there must)! So, I will try to spend a little more time in the places I am going to so that I can get a true picture of the communities I will be visiting and football's place in them. That all sounds a bit pompous doesn't it? Well, I'm sure it won't be - so with a well planned idea I will launch into this and see what happens.
